Incredible lives to share

MRC The Crossings is a community full of stories. Stop any one of our residents and ask them about their past and you will be amazed at the incredible lives they’ve lived, and history they’ve experienced. This idea inspired one of our residents, published author Mary Sue Anton, to start a project to capture these memories. The idea behind her project was simple: help others write their own story.

Leaving a legacy

Upon starting this project, Ms. Anton shared with residents, “using this time to tackle the story of your life, you will be surprised how many memories you can relive, laugh, cry and reflect on things that have made a difference in your life. The end result, your legacy, could be a gift to your descendants or friends who may not know how or where you lived before they came along. The plan is to write a little week by week.”

Now is the time to share your story

Ms. Anton has made this an easy and fun way for our residents to sort through their memories. Even for those that don’t think of writing as their strong suit, this is attainable. Each week, she gives residents a list of question to answer. They can elaborate as much or as little as they would like. After all, what better time than now to write your own masterpiece?
